Q

Categorize your relationships.

A
  1. Read Brendonโ€™s โ€œThe Chargeโ€ book.
  2. Maintenance friends are those you call maybe once a year โ€“ normally old friends.
  3. Growth friends are those you cultivate by staying in touch and having adventures with long-term.
  4. Release the guilt about deciding whoโ€™s really important in your life.
  5. Choose the people in your life โ€“ friends and family โ€“ who you really want to grow with. Spend time with those you truly connect to and see a future with.

Q

Schedule yearly adventure trips.

A
  1. To live a flourishing life, schedule time each year to bring together your growth friends and family on separate trips โ€“ a trip w/ each group.
  2. These trips donโ€™t have to be long or extravagant which means theyโ€™re 100% reasonable to do.
  3. Your family and friends bring life to you more than anyone else, but you need to cultivate these relationships.

Q

Win the SOs.

A
  1. โ€œTo win in relationships with family and friends you have to win the significant others.โ€
  2. Too few people take the time to learn about the passions, needs and backgrounds of their friends and familyโ€™s SOs. To create a real sense of family in life, you canโ€™t ostracize your core circleโ€™s extended families.
  3. Learn your growth circleโ€™s SOโ€™s birthday and other important occasions.
  4. When you celebrate the lives of everyone in your growth circle, you create an even closer knit group.
