difference from classical
high liberals:
1. everyone gets minimum level of economic, educational, and social resources to enjoy their life
2. political rights and participation = crucial for fair society

same legal opportunities regardless of background
high view on equality
substantive equality: everyone has real chance of succeeding by providing stuff like education, etc
high view on market regulation
regulating markets to ensure safety and fairness
classical –> free markets for fair income distribution
high view on basic social minimum
gurantee basic social minimum for everyone not just working class –> ensures basic needs are met
high view on the redistribution of wealth for equality and political fairness
yes, redistribute wealth to maintain equality and political fairness –> getting wealthier to help less fortunate (not all believe this) “tax the rich” energy
high view on public goods
gov should provide these since private markets don’t always guarantee
based on common interests and needs of society not just individuals
