1
Q
  1. Structured methodologies (top-down)
A

Used to document, analyze and design information systems. Structured methodologies are top down, process oriented, focusing primarily on modeling the process / actions that capture, store, manipulate and distribute data as the data flows through a system.

Q
  1. Object oriented development
A

Addresses the modeling of data issues that structured methods can not handle well. The object-oriented design phase described how the objects will behave and how they will interact with one another

Q

Virtualization

A

the process of presenting a set of computing resources that they can all be accessed in ways that are not restricted by physical configuration or geographic location

17
Q

Cloud computing

A

A model of computing in which computer processing, storage, and the other services are provided as a shared pool of virtualized resources over a network, primarily the internet.

18
Q

Three services of cloud computing

A
  1. Infrastructure as a service (IaaS): customers use processing, storage, networking and other computing resources from cloud service providers to run their information systems.
  2. Platform as a service (PaaS): customers use software hosted by the vendor on the vendors cloud infrastructure and delivered as a service over a network. Users access these applications from a web browser and the data and software are maintained on the providers remote servers.
  3. Software as a service (SaaS): customers use infrastructure and programming tools supported by the cloud service provider to develop their own applications.
19
Q

Characteristics of cloud computing

A
  1. On demand self service
  2. Ubiquitous network accehiss: can be accessed using standard network and internet devices including mobile platforms
  3. Location independent resource pooling
  4. Rapid elasticity
  5. Measured service
