hier zit GAP in Flashcards
- Structured methodologies (top-down)
Used to document, analyze and design information systems. Structured methodologies are top down, process oriented, focusing primarily on modeling the process / actions that capture, store, manipulate and distribute data as the data flows through a system.
- Data flow diagram (DFD)
the primary tool for representing a systems component process and the flow between data
- Object oriented development
Addresses the modeling of data issues that structured methods can not handle well. The object-oriented design phase described how the objects will behave and how they will interact with one another
- Computer aided software engineering (CASE)
CASE provides software tools to automate the methodologies to reduce the amount of repetitive work the developer needs to do. CASE tools try to increase productivity and quality by:
- Improving communication between users and technical specialists.
Business intelligence
apps & technologies to help users make better business decisions.
Implementation
all organizational activities of the business adopt manage, routinize a new innovation (IS)
Mashup
different sources and produce a new work that greater than the sum of its parts (personalized FB page)
IC/IT GAP analysis
A gap analysis is a method of assessing the differences in performance between a business information system or software applications
Computer hardware platforms
All the devices constitute the computer hardware platform for corporate and personal computing worldwide (PC’s, tablets, phones, etc)
Network services platforms
Are typically provided by telecommunications / telephone service companies that offer voice and data connectivity, wide area networking, wireless services and internet access.
Internet platforms
Include hardware, software and management services to support a firms website, including web hosting services, routers and cabling or wireless equipment
Consultants and system integration services
System integrators helping with the change of business process / procedures / trainings / software integration.
RFID: Radio frequency identification
Uses low-powered radio transmitters to read data stored in a tag at distances tanging from 1 inch to 100 feet. The reader captures the data from the tag and sends them over a network to host computer for processing
BYOD (Bring your own device)
Allowing employees to use their personal mobile devices in the workplace (Bring your own device)
Quantum computing
Emerging technology to boost computer processing power to find answers to problems that would take conventional computers many years to solve.
