portion of the stomach herniates into the diaphram and inti the thorax
caused by the weakening of the diaphramatic muscles

strangulation
incarceration of the stomach in the chest with posible necrosis pertonisitis and mediastinitis

heartburn
regurgitation / V
dysphagia
feeling of fullness

Ix
medical and sugical management similar to that of GERD
small frequent meals and limit liquid with meals
not reclining within 1 hour after eating
avoid anticholinergics
