hepatitis antibodies Flashcards

1
Q

what is the difference between Anti-Hbs and anti-hbc

A

IgG antibody to hepatitis core antigen (anti-HBc IgG) — generally persists for life and is indicative of past infection.

Antibody to HBsAg (anti-HBs) — indicates recovery from and immunity to HBV.

Anti-HBs without anti-HBc is a marker of immunization.

Anti-HBs is quantified to measure vaccination response.
