A
Any hearing loss? Discharge? What color/amount? Ringing in the ears? Vertigo or spinning sensation? Ear pain when swallowing?

Complaint is in nose.
A
Any change in your sense of smell?
Sinus drainage?
Obstruction?
Nosebleed?

Complaint is in the throat.
A
Hoarse or scratchy throat? Loss of voice? Bleeding in mouth or gums? Painful to swallow food or liquid? Voice changes or hoarseness?

A
Shortness of breath?
Chest pain?
Neck pain?

Palpation
A
- frontal sinus area (forehead area)
- beneath eyebrows
- ethmoid
- maxillary
Pain or pressure?

Evaluate sinus pressure.
A
Ask the patient to bend at the waist & look at their feet.
Positive for head tilt

Palpate the ear
A
Helix, lobe and tragus

Inspect the ear
A
Color of TM , valsalva test

Inspect the nose
A
Symmetry, edema & deviation
