had caused the marriage between the Duke of Suffolk and Mary; Henry’s sister. This caused problems since she had married a noble without permission, and had caused tensions to rise with Francis

After the death of Ferdinand, Charles I ( also Charles V) had signed a treaty with Spain. This led to Henry being on the sidelines of issues involving foreign policy in Europe.
