Battle of Flodden- Scots led by James IV attacked England. Success= reduction in Scottish nobility. Margaret (HVIII’s sister -regent now). Wars costed £960,000.

The Amicable Grant- forced loan on clergy and laity. Led to rebellion.

Treaty of Westminster- alliance between England and France against Charles V. Forced into negotiating truce instead.

Trial at Blackfriars- CoA wanted case referred to Rome. Pope agreed. Wolsey’s major failure.

Wolsey arrested on grounds of praemunire.

Treaty of Cambrai- England left isolated with Charles V and Francis I having signed a treaty.
