How did the Simnel Rebellion start in 1486?
A priest noticed Simnels likeliness to Warwick who was currently being held in the Tower of London and was the leading yorkist claimant to the throne.
Who supported the Simnel rebellion?
- the Earl of Lincoln (probably the ring leader)
- the Irish who crowned his king in Dublin as Edward VI
- Margaret of Burgundy (Richards sister) who accepted Simnel as her nephew and raised 2000 mercenaries
How was the Simnel rebellion ended in 1487?
Lead to the battle of stoke which Henry won. Simnel was captured and was given a job in the royal kitchens and later as the kings falconer. To prove Simnel was not who he said Henry paraded the real of Earl of Warwick around London.
How did the Lovell rebellion start in 1486?
Lovell and the staffords childhood friends of Richards head to York with hope to stir up sympathy for the Yorkists
How was the Lovell rebellion ended?
Jasper Tudor is sent to deal with it , Lovell escapes heading to Margaret of burgundy but later returns to support Simnel but he is never seen again and his body is never found. The staffords are also arrested and executed.
How threatening was the Lovell rebellion?
Not very threatening as it never made it to the battlefield which didn’t have enough support and it was very easily put down.
