What happened to Lovell and the Stafford’s?
Uprising in Richard’s heartland - Stafford gained little support in midlands, nor Lovell in Yorkshire

What happened to Simnel and the Earl of Lincoln?
Simnel was passed off as the Earl of Warwick and was even crowned in Ireland in 1487 - Henry had the real Earl exhibited for all to see.
Lincoln (responsible for the plot) fled to Margaret of Burgundy’s court, and persuaded her to pay for mercenaries to invade England.
Henry reinstated Earl of Northumberland to power the north - this meant the Howard family could not join as Northumberland was one of their descendants.
Battle of Stoke field - 1487 - Henry won as they could not get much support in the North Riding of Yorkshire as the gentry wanted to wait to see who would win
What happened to Perkin Warbeck
Began impersonating Richard Duke of York in 1491 - fled to Margaret of Burgundy’s court and trained as a Yorkist prince.
invasion of 1495 proved a fiasco as Henry had been warned so he fled to the Court of James IV of Scotland
Lord Chamberlain Stanley was a traitor - household government was still model of political operation so this caused Henry lack of security
1496 - small force from Scotland but retreated. Henry offered marriage to Margaret and Warbeck no longer safe
Henry imprisoned Warbeck until he tried to abscond and then was executed
Earl of Warwick executed for plotting with Warbeck - potential claimant
What happened to the De la Poles
Potential Yorkist claimants. Lincoln attempted plot of Earl of Warwick.
TREATY of Windsor 1506. Suffolk (Edmund DLP had fled to court of Margaret Burgundy but now given up) - executed in 1513 HVIII
Richard died fighting for the French at Battle of Parvia 1525
How did Henry consolidate his power?
BACK DATING REIGN to 21st Aug 1485 (before BoB, so Yorkist fighters could be declared traitors)
11 knighthoods to key supporters
Supporters detained Warwick and Elizabeth of York who he then married in 1486, uniting the houses
Coronation took place before meeting with Parliament (30th oct vs 7th nov) - demonstrating his hereditary right
Acts of attainder - those guilty of rebelling against Henry had to give up their land was forfeit to the Crown
Was granted tonnage and poundage - the right to raise revenue from imports and exports
BINDS OF GOKD BEHAVIOUR - landlords who might otherwise face financial ruin
