- Continued going after heretics (following daddy’s footsteps Henry IV)
- H ereally did not like anti christian sentiment or going against the norms. (this is why he is considered last medieval king.)
- also he is known for continuing the 100 Years War.
- Also believed strongly he had right to the throne of France. (became so)
- Fixed the great schism by putting in a new pope Martin V.
Renewal of the Hundred Years War
-by Henry V as he sees himself as rightful heir to french throne. He invades France while France is undergoing its own sort of conflict between two opposin houses (Burgundy and Armagnac).
King Charles VI of France and Duke John of Burgundy
-King Charles VI the mad king. Duke John of Burgandy vied to control this king.
Battle of Agincourt (1415)
-A battle in which french nobility were completely off guard due to in fighting between burgundy and armagnac. Henry and his archers destroy a bunch of heavily armored and mounted knights that, if it hadn’t had been for serious mud on the battlefield, would never have happened. ended with DUKE OF BURGANDY conceding and allowing English control.
The Treaty of Troyes and Lancastrian France
- The treaty was signed which recognized Henry V as the true king of all France.
- Gave him princess Catherine as his bride.
- Would take kingdom after mad king died.
