Edward IV
Was Duke of York and pushed out the Lancastrian families with help from Richard Neville. Marries Elizabeth Woodvville and pisses off Richard causing him to go back to helping the Lancastrians. He is forced to flee to Flanders but regains control of an army, returns to York and plans once again to take kingdom.
The Woodville Family
-A bunch of wealthy commoners (gentry class) whose female Elizabeth Woodville wooes and marries the King Edward IV. The family is elevated in status by the king by receiving gifts and titles.
“Overmighty Magnates”
-A nobleman so powerful that he can make or break kings with his money. in reference to the Earl of Warwick Richard Neville OR any member of nobility who tries to be too big for his or her britches.

The Kingmaker and the Lancastrians
-Richard and Lancasters with help from France return to take back power from Edward IV (who flees to france). King Henry the VI (the slightly crzy king) is pulled from tower and returned to throne but has to abdicate power to son and wife.
Battle of Barnett
This was the battle between the Earl of Warwick and Edward IV who had just returned from being pushed to Flanders and had come down through York (where he was a former Duke) to fight the day after Easter in a heavy fog. He easily defeats the Earl (remember they had been friends at one point before Edward has decided to marry that commoner girl).
Richard Duke of Gloucester
- Was brother and right hand man of Edward IV.
- Was kind of a monster.
- Hated the Woodville Family.
- Assumed Regency and sent Edward IV two sons to the tower.
- Then claims that both sons are illegitmate and assumes kingship.
The Lost Princes
-The sons of Edward IV of which whom Richard, the Duke of Gloucester had ousted and sent to the tower because of their affiliation to the Woodville Family.
Henry Tudor (VII), Earl of Richmond
- Was living in exile in France and was the choice for people over Richard III who the people did not like and saw as a bit of a monster. Henry was the last of the lancastrian connection and powerful ally with French King.
- also known as native prince.
- sent back to england with troops and defeats Richard III at Bosworth Field.
- Restores stability to region by enjoying peaceful foreign relations.
- Has son and heir Arthur marry Catherine of Aragon, but when he dies give her to Henry 8th
Battle of Bosworth Field
- Where Henry Tudor (Henry VII) and Richard III meet for battle.
- Two small armies, but Henry destroys and kills Richard and this kind of marks the end of the War of Roses.
