What will happen due to chronic congestion?
A
There is inadequate tissue perfusion and persisting hypoxia, causing parenchymal cell death and secondary tissue fibrosis
- edema can also occur rupturing capillaries, from elevated intravascular pressure causing focal hemorrhage

What is anasarca?
A
Severe generalized edema of subcutaneous tissues and accumulation of fluid in body cavities

What is hemosiderin?
A
An iron-storage complex
–> as RBC dies and releases hemoglobin, phagocytes engulf hemoglobin and produce hemosiderin (and biliverdin)
