Advantages.

A

Portable - no mains supply required.
Cheap to install.
Gives off Carbon dioxide which may benefit plants.

Disadvantages.

A

Difficult to automate - bottled gas can have thermostatic control.
Generally low heat output.
Produces water vapour - condensation.
Gives iff toxic fumes; some ventilation necessary which reduces temp.
