Where should you palpate to find the Carotid Pulse?
the medial aspect of the SCM in the lower half of the neck
Where should you palpate to find the Brachial Pulse?
medial to the biceps tendon and lateral to medial epicondyle of the humerus
Where should you palpate to find the Radial Pulse?
at the wrist lateral to the flexor carpi radialis tendon
Where should you palpate to find the Ulnar Pulse?
at the wrist between the flexor digitorum superficialis and flexor carpi ulnaris tendons

upper thigh, one third of the distance from the pubis to the ASIS

in the popliteal space of the posterior knee

Infant: 100-130 bpm
Child: 80-100 bpm
Adult: 60-100 bpm
What is classified as bradycardia? Tachycardia?
Bradycardia: under 60 bpm
Tachycardia: over 100 bpm
How do you measure the volume or amplitude of a pulse?
on a 0-3+ scale 0=no pulse 1+ = small or reduced pulse 2+ = normal pulse 3+ = large or bounding pulse
