Heart: Innervation Flashcards
What does sympathetic innervation of the heart responsible for?
Increasing the heart rate and strength of contraction and dialates the coronary arteries
Parasympathetic innervation fo the heart is responsible for what?
Decreasing of the heart rate and strength of contraction and constricts the coronary arteries
Where does innervation of the heart come from?
The cardiac plexus
Where is the superficial cardiac plexus located?
Beneath the arch of the aorta and anterior to the pulmonary trunk
What is the location of the deep cardiac plexus?
posterior to the arch of the aorta
Where does sympathetic innervation of the heart come from?
Through the cervical and thoracic cardiac nerves through the sympathetic trunk (T1-T4)
Parasympathetic innervation of the heart comes from what?
Vagus Nerve (CN X)
Where does sensory innervation of the heart come from?
Sympathetic branches of the vagus
