What are the signs a symptoms of a heart attack?

A

→ May complain of centre chest pain that may radiate to the shoulders, neck or jaw. They may clutch at chest
→ May feel tightness, heaviness, squeezing and dull chest pain
→ Pale, cool skin
→ May start sweating for no reason
→ Breathing may become strained and rapid
→ Loss of consciousness
→ Nausea or vomiting
→ feeling dizzy or light headed

What’s the response for someone having a heart attack?

A

→ Call 000
→ Encourage casualty to stop what they’re doing
→ Sit them down and make them comfortable
→ Provide reassurance and stay calm
→ Remover clothing that potentially inhibits breathing
→ Give dissolvable aspirin 300mg (usually 1 tablet)
→ Ensure good access to fresh air
Monitor DRS ABCD and be prepared to start CPR if they become unconscious and stop breathing

what are the signs and symbtoms of Angina?

A

→ Same as heart attack symptoms but not as severe
→ Symptoms will subside when the heart slows down or casualty takes medications proscribed for treatment
The casualty may tell you they know they have Angina

what’s the responce for Angina?

A

→ Stop exercise, advise them to relax
→ Keep them calm
→ Assist in them taking their medication
→ Monitor DRS ABCD
→ If pain persists for more then 10 - 15 min call 000

A
→ May occur without prior warning  
	→ A slow or racing heart beat 
	→ Fainting, dizziness, blackouts 
	→ Fatigue
	→ Chest pain 
	→ Shortness of breath weakness 
Nausea and vomiting
