tuning fork on mastoid and then next to ear
If CONDUCTION LOSS: hear better on bone
If SENSORINEURAL: better next to the ear

Normal: same on both sides
Conductive: hear better on damaged side
Sensorineural: hear better on undamaged side.

A
don’t totally make you deaf in affected side due to cross over in the medulla pons area.
