How are Exercise, Health, Fitness and Performance related?
Exercise improves health and develops fitness, which enhances performance during physical activity
Define Health
Health, is a state of complete mental, physical and social well-being, and not merely, the absence of disease or infirmity.
Define Exercise
Exercise is a form of physical activity which maintains or improves health and/or physical fitness.
Define fitness
Fitness is the ability to meet the demands of the environment.
Define performance
Performance is how well a task is completed.

Define cardio vascular endurance
The fitness of the heart blood and blood vessels and the ability to exercise the entire body for long periods of time (allows sportsmen to play long, hard matches, it concerns the heart and lungs).
Define muscular endurance
The ability to use voluntary muscles many times without getting tired (concerns long games which require the same strong shots at the start and at the end, e.g. tennis).
Define muscular strength
The amount of force a muscle can exert against a resistance (developed by lifting heavy weights).
Define flexibility
The range of movement possible at a joint (developed with stretches).
Define body composition
The percentage of body weight which is fat, muscle and bone (improved with diet and exercise).
