A

Anna- infancy
Anna can stand, cruise and walk. Muscles in their legs develop. Anna can use a spoon and make marks with crayons using a palmar grasp. Already developed pincer grasp so now uses palmar grasp. (3)

Shona-4 years old, early childhood.
Shona has already developed the tripod grasp, can use a fork and spoon meaning she doesn’t need help to eat things at break and lunch. Can turn pages of a book. When she starts school she is already 4 so will be able to thread small beads and colour in pictures.

Outline the difference between growth and development (4)

A

Growth is an increase in a measurable quantity such as height or weight. It is a variable across different parts of the body. Whereas development is a complex change in skills and capabilities that an individual experiences as they grow. Follows an orderly sequence.
