- details of company’s h&s structure including roles and responsibilities

What are some of the individual responsibilities in your company’s H&S policy?
- not endangering yourself or others at work
- ensuring you are fit for work
- reporting all incidents, including near misses, to your line manager
What are the six pack of H&S regulations?
- six regulations that were introduced in 1993, outlining how employers must comply with their duties under the 1974 H&S at work act
- these include management of health and safety at work and personal protective equipment at work
what is RIDDOR?
Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences regulations 2013
What are some of the key principles of RIDDOR?
- any injuries resulting in over 7 days of incapacitation must be report to the HSE within 15 of the accident
- employers must keep a log of injuries lasting 3 or more days for a minimum of three years after the accident
What are the potential sanctions if gross breaches of corporate duty of care lead to a person’s death?
-these fall under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 and sanctions include an unlimited fine, imprisonment and disqualification as a company director
what are some of the key principles of the Fire Safety Act 2021?
- a responsible person must access, manage and reduce the fire risk of buildings
-Fire Risk Appraisals of External Walls (FRAEW) reports must be completed to understand the responsible person’s obligations - an External Wall Systems (ESW1) form may also be required to assess the external wall system’s safety
when is an ESW1 form required?
when a building is deemed higher risk typically due to its height or type of cladding used
What was the purpose of the 2022 Building Safety Act?
- to enhance regulations for building safety and ensure residents have a stronger voice in ensuring safety in buildings
what has the building safety act introduced?
- The Building Safety Regulator which will oversee the safety and construction of higher-risk buildings
