What are the key roles(duties) of the file manager?

A

Assist with establishing and maintaining the investigation HQ
Operate paperflow and associated structure in accordance with serious crime document management system as outlined in SCT
Manage the electronic and physical files relating to the investigation
Support 2ICby reading all documents for the purpose of highlighting important information to the 2IC
Assist the 2IC with identification and recording of the original material
Complete synopsis of all documents received excluding documents relating to the covert policing activities
Insure a flow of information throughout the investigation
Assist with the preparation of the prosecution file
Assist with the management of the trial.

What formats can be used to disclose material?

A

The format used to disclose documents to defence are hard copy electronically or a combination of both
Disclosure method selected will depend on
Actual any dissipated scared of investigation, resources available to disclose your manager, technical ability of the disclosure manager, investigation file being stored in electronic or hard copy format,number of persons being charged, scale of the file/amount of material to be disclosed, sensitivity of material, defence counsel involved in any agreement reached for defence counsel to receive material in a particular format.
