conjunctivitis - inflammation of the bulbar and palpebral conjunctiva dacryocystitis - inflammation of the lacrimal sac hordeolum - redness, swelling and tenderness of the hair follicle and glands that empty at the edge of the eyelids iritis - inflammation of the iris contusions or haematomas - ‘black eyes’ resulting from injury

Glaucoma - a disturbance in the circulation of aqueous fluid, which causes an increase in intraocular pressure cataracts - opacity of the lens or its capsule caused by cataracts blocks light rays Mydriasis (enlarged pupils) Miosis (constricted pupils) Anisocoria (unequal pupils) ptosis - Eyelids that lie at or below the pupil margin ectropion - Eversion - an out-turning of the eyelid entropion - Inversion, an in-turning of the lid
