Dentures get tighter = bone deposition
Glass in concrete syndrome- teeth very brittle, alveolar bone very strong
What is the guidelines for patients undergoing radiotherapy and extractions?
Avoid extractions in the first six months to 1-year post-radiotherapy
OH affects of radiotherapy?
Radiation caries, caused by very bad xerostomia.
Topical fluoride.
Features of marfans syndrome?
Tall and thin.
High arched palate.
Scoliosis
Oral side effects of cox 2 inhibitors? eg celecoxib
Stomatitis and taste disturbance
Oral side effects of Penicillamine? Used for RA
- Lichenoid reactions = white lesion in mouth caused as a direct side effect of drug/ amalgam
- Oral ulceration
- Thrombocytopaenia
