Standards to follow
• Character: To join HCPC, trustworthy character references need to be obtained from people you have known for atleast 3 years (also consider criminal convictions / cautions)
• Health: regular General health updates myst be sent to HCPC (every 2 years) If you have amy conditions that will imapct on your clients , must stop immediately

• recognise where and how its appropriate to breach in certain situations and how to do so safely
• some info must remain lrivate while some info shouldnt be kept private due to the risk and severity of keeping it that way (e.g. a client says they are going to kill someone)

• to be able to communicate to the level 7 standard of Emglish Language testinh system, with no element lower than level 6.5
• To be able to communicate complex ideas in a condensed appropriate form (feedback)
• use interpriters when nessasary
• to have empathy during communication so patient more relaxed and open
• E.g. communicate clearly and efficientaly with: parol officers, with the patients family, sopport teams and mental health teams

• to understand theoretical basis and appreoaches to assessment and intervention e.g. Councilling Sessions
