Hawklink/datalink; ISAR Flashcards
Hawklink/data link modes
- ASUW
2. USW
ASUW mode is probably
Using MMR/IFF + FLIR (MTS) + ESM to interrogate or identify surface targets
USW is probably
Using FLIR + ESM + acoustic sonobuoys system
C-band vs Ku-band
Ku-Band is superior in every sense than C-band
Ku-band has a lot more symbol exchange between ship/helo
Hawklink/datalink control helo
Helo controls everything
Ship can monitor all mission displays that are active/in-use
Hawklink/datalink ship
Ship has control over active interfaces within helo (which can vary based on mission)
However, in ASW the sonobuoys can NEVER be controlled by the ship…. the data received by T/R is sent to ship via datalink
UHF secure ops has what machine in MFR?
Ky-58
Ky-58 allows for what?
6 separate encryption keys to be loaded into ARC-210 (MFR)
What are the crypto ports?
1 red = secure
1 black = unclass or not secure
The comm relay assembly provides
Antenna RF and signal switching capability between MFR 1 and MFR 2
Basically we can be an operator and allow forn2 different frequencies to talk with each other
COMSEC =
Communications security equipment
Where are comsec buttons?
On OCP for rad1/2
Labeled SEC/CLR
SEC =
Green and secure transmission
CLR =
Yellow and clear = transmission is possible
ISAR =
Inverse synthetic aperture radar
