• all straps extended, damage to webbing, stitching, and metal components inc. leg loop buckles
• check date of manufacture
  -max 10 year life
  -Harnesses retired by MES (mechanical engineering services) Thornbury
• check the webbing at the attachment points, adjustment buckles and the safety stitching. Look for cuts, loose threads, wear and damage
• verify that the double-back and leg loop buckles function properly
  -check chest harness karabiner frame, gate, hinge and locking screw are free of any cracks, deformation, corrosion or wear due to heat or contact with chemicals
• verify the gate opens and closes automatically and completely. check locking sleeve locks and unlocks
  -if fails fill in missing/damaged paperwork and return to MES

- adjust leg loop to waist belt slack
- ensure coat collar is clear of harness

- removed and inspected annually by MES
