Q
Mechanism of action for Laser Hair Removal?
A
Laser is attracted to pigment in the hair, The light energy/photons penetrates into the hair shaft/follicle and absorbs/targets melanin which creates a thermal reaction, this heat reaction causes the hair follicle to detach itself from the blood supply and denature the stem cells, targeting both as they both allow the hair to grow and regenerate. it is only effective when the hair is in anagen phase (the growing) as this is the only stage when the hair is attached to the blood supply.
