What tests are used to diagnose H pylori
A
Urea 13c, SAT or blood test

If someone is allergic to penicillin, what is the treatment for them
A
PPI + Clarithromycin + Metronidazole (PCM)
If already tried clarithromycin before: PPI + Bismuth + Metronidazole + tetracycline (PBMT)
2nd line: PPI + metronidazole + Levofloxin (PML)

Is someone CAN take penicillin, what is the treatment for them?
A
PPI + Amoxicillin + Metronidazole or Clarithromycin (PAC/PAM)
OR
PPI + Amoxicillin + tetracycline (if previously treated with met or clar) (PAT)

When should the breath test not be be performed?
A
Within 4 weeks of abx treatment or within 2 weeks of treatment with PPI
