- assessment of hepatic reserve
- preducts the surgical risks of intraabdominal operations performed on cirrhotic patients

Mortality
Child A: 5-6 points ~ 10% mortality
Child B: 7-9 points ~ 30% mortality
Child C: 10-15 points ~ 80% mortality
Pharmacologic treatment for nonvariceal PUD bleed
Omeprazole 80mg IV bolus, then infusion of 8mg/hour
Pharmacologic treatment for variceal bleed
Octreotide 50mcg IV bolus, then 25-50mcg/hr infusion
