What is premenstrual syndrome
Occurs 7-14 before menstruation
Weight gain, muscle sensitivity, vascular alterations, breast pain, headache, cramping, emotional changes, and edema may occur
Primary dysmenorrhea
-occurs with the advent of mental flow
-mild cramping in normal, but it may be severe
-nausea vomiting diarreha
Secondary dysmenorrhea
Pain before, during and after the menorah flow
Amenorrhea
Absence of menstral period
Endometritis
Inflammation of the endometrium or uterine lining
May be caused by STI or surgery
Symptoms of endometritis
Malaise, fever, constipations, vaginal bleeding and pelvic pain
Endometriosis
Occurs when the endometrial tissue grows outside the uterus
May have no symptoms or cause severe pain
Causes painful sex, menstruation and heavy periods
Pelvic inflammatory disease
Infection of the female upper organs or reproduction
Chief complaint is abdominal pain
Risk factors of PID
IUD, frequent sexual activity with multiple partners, history of PID
20-24 years
Interstitial Cystitis
Chronic bladder condition that results in an inflamed or irritated bladder. Symptoms mimic that of a UTI or STI, no cure
Ectopic pregnancy
Fertilized egg is implanted elsewhere
Chancroid
Caused by infection, produces painful ulcers of genitals, helps spread HIV
