A

+ve: can reinforce good movements, identifies errors to be corrected, can hold attention of performers, can be used to motivate
-ve: information overload, if inaccurate then the skills will be hindered

What is visual guidance?

A

Images or demonstrations can be used to help a learner
A coach should highlight key points of the movements
The image or demonstration should be accurate

Explain the advantages and disadvantages of visual guidance

A

+ve: easy to create a mental picture, skill can be seen at different stages, encourages observational learning
-ve: if demonstration is incorrect bad habits could form, coach may not be able to show accurate demonstrations, may be unclear or too quick

+ve: helps with confidence and sense of safety, reduce fear, give a kinaesthetic feels, concentrate on certain aspects of a skill
-ve: over-restricted, lack control, false kinaesthesis
