what is the permanent cavity

slower moving bullets

A

When the bullet enters the skin it takes that piece of flesh from the beginning and carries it through - sometimes all the way out of the body

temporary cavity is when

medium moving bullets

A

the bullet pushes tissue to displace and it pushes it OUT - creates crush injuries that are distal to permanent cavity - as bullet leaves tissue falls back into place (contusions, bleeding, crush injuries)
