What is Goss’s Wilt, it’s management techniques, and confirmed areas?
Bacterial disease in corn crops. Because it’s bacterial, fungicides aren’t effective at managing this disease. Instead, similar to club root, strategies of footwear and vehicle clean of soil particles and plant residue are important management techniques.
As of the end of 2019, it’s been confirmed in southern MB, southern AB, and central SK.

A combination of Bt corn (insect protected) and a hybrid that isn’t insect tolerant (which serves as a refuge) premixed in a bag. Planting a refuge allows insects to feed on non-tolerant plants to slow development of insect resistance to Bt toxins.
