independent statutory body established under the law reform commission act. they undertake law reform reviews referred to it by the attorney general

a lobbying organisation for the preservation of civil liberties. the QCCL helps inform people of their rights and lobbies and protests in order to draw awareness of civil rights and personal liberties
functions of the QCCL
seeks solutions to problems related to civil liberties (prison reforms, censorship, rights of minority groups), be vigilant in matters affecting civil liberties and to safeguard and develop respect for human rights and freedoms
australian human rights centre
engages in research projects to identify barriers that prevent the full realisation of human rights in various contexts including business, climate change and gender justice
australian lawyers for human right
promotes lawyer practices of human rights law in australia, engages with the UN in relation to Australian Human Rights violations, engages internationally to promote human rights and rule of law
amnesty international
seeks to protect human rights around the world, it states that the primary objective is to conduct research and generate action to prevent and end abuses of human rights and demand justice for those whose rights have been violated
church groups
they advocate for human rights, but can be the worst for protecting rights, since they support the right to life but not abortion or euthanasia
international federation of red cross (IFRC)
carries out relief operations to assist victims of disasters and health emergencies. helps in developing communities, they use time, skill and money in helping vulnerable people
the media
the media can be used by governments to hide the truth about human rights abuses, but can also be used to expose, name and shame people, and governments where human rights are breached
