Group 2: Articles Flashcards
Leading Joint Hypothesis
Procedure & Results & Other info.
Procedures: Interpreting speeding ques by instructor to point at different color tennis balls, and stay at each color ball until told “neutral” ending the study
Results: Spatial arm movements are shoulder led, and elbow-led movements occur when shoulder movement is relatively small
*Found equations to incorporate shoulder torque and gravity
True or False: Joint that has higher interaction torque than muscle torque is the leading joint.
False
Step Training vs. Spotnaneous Recovery after Spinalization in adult cats (Significance of CPG)
Procedure: Using trained vs. not trained cats and asking them to perform with only hind legs. They would spinalized and tested. After spinalization, cats had to perform at least 20 consecutive steps.
Results: EMG activity is reduced after spinalization.
Non-Trained Cats: short bursts + collapsing + can not sustain Speed
Trained Cats:
Significance: Adaptation of neuromotor system relies on motor experience and the utilization of intervention. Input from brain is not necessary,as long as you have adaptation of muscle activiation
What is CPG?
…
Effects of Epidural stimulation of the Lumbosacral Spinal Cord on Voluntary Movement, Standing
Procedure:
Results:
Significance:
Limitations:
*One patient, not true to whole population
Prolonged Reaction Time in Patients with Chronic Lateral Instability of the Ankle
Procedures: Subject would stand on platform, and once the muscles relaxed the trapdoor will move and EMG will record possible ankle sprains
Results:
