Checking APU
- Check one hour after shutdown
- Oil level between add line and a point 1/8” above add line
- Accumulator pressure 2700-3000 PSI
Checking Engines
- Check 20 minutes after shutdown
- If oil less than 1/2 way between full and add line, service to approximately 1 inch below full line (top set of bolts)
Checking Engine Starter
- No time requirement after shutdown
- Oil level should be to flat machined surface inside fill port at 6 o’clock position
Checking MGB
- If possible, let sit at least 6 hours or overnight without turning rotor
- Hot side 1/2 to 2 hours after shutdown
- Cold side more than 2 hours after shutdown
Checking IGB
- Do not check with pylon folded
- Is properly serviced when oil level is within inner circle when pylon is spread
- If needs more than 300ml to bring Oil level to top of inner circle, gearbox should be replaced
Checking TGB
- Do not check with pylon folded
- Is properly serviced when oil level is within inner circle when pylon is spread
- If needs more than 400ml to bring oil level to top of inner circle, gearbox shall be changed
Checking Viscous Dampers
-100 Centistokes dampening Fluid (VV-D-1078)
Air Bubbles:
- 0 to 1 inch damper may continue in service
- 1 to 2 inches should be serviced
- More than 2 inches damper should be replaced
Checking Rescue Hoist
- Check oil level is within sight glass
- View sight glass through rear screen fan
Checking ECS (Environmental Control System)
-Oil level should be visible in sight gauge
