Grit Flashcards
Grit Intro: Not Easy/ Requires grit
By no means is applying a growth mindset easy, you will need to apply grit to break down barriers. But grit does not appear out of thin air. We saw that the dotsure vision had very specific goals and values, we need to align ourselves with these and you as individuals need to have your goals and values in place because without goals and values, you will not have the strength to battle through tough times.
Grit: Practice
Feedback loop
Deliberate practice means learning as you go, by getting feedback from your experiences and others. It’s not easy getting candid feedback but it is important that we use that information and turn it into positive forward moving energy
Grit: Purpose
Find your interest
The word purpose gets thrown around a lot. It’s not about finding some natural calling, but instead finding something that you can dive deeper into and learn from.
Practice is useless if you don’t feel purposeful about it. If you don’t have a purpose, you will not know what to practice and will not have something to push you though tough times
Grit: Hope
Embrace failure
Get up again
Failure is often inevitable, but if we learn to embrace failure as an opportunity to learn, improve, and the get up again, we are more likely to succinct future attempts
To develop more grit you must start with hope, and learn that it is alright to fail as long as you don’t quit.
Grit: Time
Develop from failure
The last part of the grit formula is time. You need to devote yourself to practice, purpose, and developing from failure (Extra effort).
Having something you can be interested in, something you can practice, and something where you can display grit, are all important. The key is giving yourself time to practice and learn.
