it binds to haemoglobin in red blood cells, inhibits the body’s ability to exchange gas in the body-> leads to oxygen deficiency

smog that contains low levels of ozone, causing breathing difficulties and dimming

acidifies water bodies- problem as changes in ecosystems as death of animals/ certain plants
