• They go to the city to have a party at Myrtle’s apartment which Tom keeps for the affair
• Nick wants to leave but Tom insists that he stays
• The party gets out of hand because everyone has drunk a lot, Nick included
• Myrtle taunts Tom about Daisy by shouting her name and saying she can say it whenever she wants
• Tom reacts by breaking her nose
• Nick is repulsed by such violence
