What are Bitmap graphics?
- Made up of pixels where each pixel has a position
- Large images need more dots to maintain the quality
- Sometimes known as raster images
- Used for photographs and images with shading

- Consist of equations
- Components are also described by length, thickness and colour
What are the advantages of vector graphics over bit mapped graphics
- Vector drawings can be enlarged to any size without any loss in quality
- Vector graphics are ideal for company logos as they can be greatly enlarged
- Files are smaller that bitmaps taking up less storage space
- Load faster
