How do you solve the problem of large files?
Files can be compressed to make them smaller when stored or sent but they need to be de-compressed.
What are the Advantages of Data Compression?
- Files will take up less storage space when saved
- Files will reach their destination more quickly when sent over a network
What are the Disadvantages of Data Compression?
- Precision can be lost
- It is not always possible to return to the uncompressed state
