Graph Sketching Flashcards

1
Q

If they ask you to draw graph squared how do you do?

A
  • you know no negative BUT NOT JUS REFLECTION
  • check range of values - between 0 and 1?
This means each value will actually become smaller (try a value out , 0.9 squared is 0.81 which is less)

Q

What does the graph sinc 2 represent
How does this experiment even work

A

Represents the intensity against some coordinate which is propritnsk to the distance away from the central order maxima (remember if the path length difference is wavkentgh then maxima or else minima)

This is intensity against against diffraction angle for a SINGLE SPLIT DIFFRACTION EXPIREMTN

Light from different angles are diffracted differently and causes superposition of different inntensitied as a result of constructive or destructive

Based on on the angle , the difference in intensity

Double slit is different , this is different (so basicslly ideal it would be same but isn’t, intensities are less due to amplitude being less and prorotinsl to it neidty squared)

Single diffraction = single maxima and sharp decline, doubke is a bit more gradual

Q

How to deduce where the graph approaches infinity from

A

Plug in large numbers but not too infinity, investigate how the graph is positive still or nrgetieb and then determine that

Q

When using multiplying approach, if there is nothing what happens

A

Like nothing times something is 0 so that part is Eli inater

Q

How to prove e to pi is bigger than pi to e using ln x over x graph

A

Do the general for a b bigger than b to a

Ln bath sides and make an argument to so how ln a /a is bigger than lnb/b

The greatest point on the grav is at when x = e, so greater than any point m inkcuing li over li

Reverse to show

This assumes bigger than 1
