Capaciors Flashcards

Q

Remember what happens in a capacitor in general

A

Initially current goes to capacitor where accumulated electrons and induced a charge, thus producing a charge. This charge produces a current thst opposes the original current and thus a potential difference made too

When the currents cancel each other out, the capacitor is finally fully charge and had the same pd across it as INITAL emf

Now if connected to another the charge cannot go anywhere, but if connected to a component then potential difference and circuit made

Q

Remember total charge across a circuit series

A

Total charged in series is same as current same

But in parallel which is what it was in this case is split q1 and q2

If you then equate previous charge to new, you know that at any voltage you can find the charges which must = previous, rearraneg
