Comma- used to join two independent clauses usually with a conjunction. Separates a list.

Subject- what the sentence is about( main topic)
Predicate- what is said about the subject
Dr English(subject) sent two medication orders two hours ago( predicate)
Phrase- a group of two or more words that acts a single part of speech in a sentence.
The flu clinic had seen many cases of infectious disease.
I had a dream.
Clauses- a group of words that has a subject and predicate.
Indecent clause - a sentence that can stand alone
Dependent clause- is an incomplete sentence, it depends on the independent sentence
Dr. Chalet distributed the exams( independent) as soon as the students were seated.
You must work hard( independent) if you want to succeed in life(dependent)
