Ingested C. perfringens sporulate in the small intestine, releasing a
heat-labile enterotoxin which acts mainly on the membrane
permeability of the small intestine
Clinical manifestations of C. perfringes A2
Characterized by watery diarrhea with cramps and little vomiting.
It resolves in 24 hours.
