ECS = Emergency Care Summary
Summary of basic information about
your health which might be important if you need urgent medical care when your GP surgery is closed, or
when you go to an A&E Department
KIS = Key Information Summary
Collection of information about a patient extracted from the patient’s general practice record. A KIS
has to be created for each patient, task carried out by the doctor with the consent of the patient or their
carers. GPs are encouraged to use KIS to create ‘Anticipatory Care Plans’ for vulnerable patients at
risk of admission to hospital. The hope is that better information and planning for these patients can
help keep them at home or in the community, reducing unnecessary hospital care.
Palliative Care Summary
If needing hospitalisation - provides details of palliative care via ECS (viewable in Trakcare)
Surgery Pods
Patients measure their own vital signs (incl. wgt. & BP) + answer clinical questionnaires via touch screen
Patients can also be sent to the Surgery Pod by their
clinician to perform specific tests/in new patients = new patient check
All data is read, coded and posted instantly and securely into
the patient record
