What was the Expulsion of the Minions?

A

In 1519, Wolsey removed the Gentlemen of the Privy Chamber, who largely opposed him, and replaced them with his own supporters. This allowed him to exercise authority over the sole department of government which was previously independent. However, the majority recovered their positions.
