what are the limitations of TANF?

  • the amount of money made available by the gov has fallen every year
  • the amount has stayed the sam but didn’t adjust for inflation
  • families in 2015 cannot buy the same amount of goods of TANF as recipients in 97.
  • TANF has increased poverty in some families as it forces parents to get poorly paying jobs/ 2 or 3 jobs and end up resulting in more money being spent.
