* didn’t work for Wolsey in AMG and Cromwell in POG - rebellion too big so had to negotiate

  • Rebellion a sin - divine right of kings + the great chain of being
  • Cromwell - writers to attack pilgrims- Morrison wrote “ a seditious rebellion
  • Ed VI used propaganda in 1549 to discourage unrest- cranmers homilies - preachers sent to Norwich camp - cheke wrote “the hurt of sedition”
